Ryan began his " fly fishing" career at the age of 12 when he began tying flies for a couple of fly shops around the country. A month out of high school in 2004, his fly fishing guide employment officially started, along with being a certified casting instructor in western Wyoming. Though he began guiding fly fishing in western Wyoming, he eventually began guiding the Big Horn and North Platte River systems during his college years at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Ryan traveled as far as Mongolia to guide fly fishing for the fabled Hucho Taimen along the Russian/Mongolian border for a couple of stints. Even though his travels in fly fishing took him far and wide, he always returned back to Pinedale for summer time fishing. In 2013, he established the Wyoming Fishing Company LLC, based out of Sublette County, which has now expanded to a full time fly fishing outfitter and seasonal fly casting school. Ryan is the father to 3 boys, accompanied by their legendary mother and fellow angler, Cyndle. They spend their lives immersed in the outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the Green River basin, in western Wyoming .
